Where Can You See The Indian Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean Meet?

While the two oceans don’t actually meet in Cape Town, it was previously believed that they met at Cape Point. While you won’t see the two oceans coming together, Cape Point holds many more magnificent views to be enjoyed.

Beautiful secret beaches, natural surroundings and a whole host of animals it’s hard to see elsewhere in the Cape.

What should you expect when you see the two oceans meet? Well, unfortunately, there is no significant line that indicates where one ocean meets the other. Cape Agulhas is a far way to come to witness two oceans meeting (with little to no colour changes in the water), but you can still take in some beautiful views.

How to Get to Cape Point?

Cape Point is located about an hour outside of the city centre, but it’s still one of the best things to do in the Mother City. if you have a car, it’s a beautiful drive to get there, with plenty of viewing points along the way.

There are also plenty of date spots along the way, so pack a picnic if you want to have a moment with your loved one along the way. There is also a bus service and plenty of travel concierge services that will take you directly to Cape Point, but this might leave you without transport when you’re in the reserve (which is rather large).

The best way to get to Cape Point is to rent a car so that you can travel to the lighthouse.

Is it worth going to see the Two Oceans meet? While it is a breathtaking view, there is no definition between the two oceans, so you won’t see a line in the water.

This being said, Cape Point Nature Reserve is absolutely stunning – although not the ACTUAL location where two oceans meet. So if you want to witness the power of nature and the stunning natural surroundings, then this is one of the most tranquil places to be in all of Cape Town.
